Cannot find file due to Recycle Bin purged.
Cause:
The file was deleted and the Recycle Bin was disabled or purged. The file is no longer available through Windows 95. Or, the file was deleted at the MS-DOS Prompt. In this case the file does not go to the Windows Recycle Bin.
Solution:
Use MS-DOS UNDELETE.
Do one or both of the following to retrieve a deleted file:
1) Use the MS-DOS UNDELETE command.
a) Close all open applications:
1] Right-click on the taskbar button for the application and select 'Close' from the shortcut menu.
2] Click 'Close' to close the application.
b) Click 'Start' and select 'Shutdown...'.
c) Select the 'Restart the Computer in MS-DOS mode' radio button from the Shut Down dialog box. (The computer reboots and restarts.)
d) Type the following at the prompt:
LOCK C:
(where 'C:' is the name of the root directory).
e) Type Y when the warning prompt appears.
f) Change to the directory where the file was deleted by entering CD\DIRECTORY\PATH
g) Type UNDELETE *.* at the prompt.
h) When prompted to undelete the deleted file type Y.
NOTE: In some cases a file may be unrecoverable and DOS will indicate this.
i) Type the first letter of the filename when prompted.
NOTE: Any letter can be used for the first letter if it is not known.
j) Type UNLOCK C: when finished.
k) Type EXIT to return to Windows.
2) Determine if a backup copy was made and retrieve the backup copy of the file by doing the following:
a) Click 'Options...'. (The Save Options dialog box appears.)

b) Select the 'Always Create Backup' check box.

c) Click 'OK'. (The Save As dialog box reappears.)
d) Click 'OK'.
NOTE: Backup copies of files are stored in the same directory as the original file but have a name: Backup of Document Name.wbk (where 'Document Name' is the name of the saved file.)
